Citizens Advice - Scams Awareness Fortnight June 15th to 28th
Monmouthshire County Citizens Advice supports the annual Scams Awareness campaign which aims to create a network of confident, alert consumers who know what to do when they spot a scam. This year's campaign will take place over two weeks, from the 15-28 June. We'll be focusing on raising awareness of the scams that have emerged as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
This year protecting people against scams is more important than ever. The coronavirus crisis means more people are facing issues - from employment and debt, to housing and health - resulting in more people being in vulnerable situations. Added to this, the overall heightened uncertainty and anxiety caused by the pandemic is making everyone more vulnerable and more likely to fall victim to a scam. Empowering the public against scams is crucial during these uncertain times. Help us spread the message that scams are crimes that can happen to anyone and that we can all take a stand to help stop them. There are actions we can all take to report them, share stories and raise awareness of scams to safeguard ourselves and others.
Can I please ask you to put the attached poster (home) up in your windows at home across the county to spread Scams Awareness.
The poster (public) contains a little more information and is designed for public places. Please could you put these up in places open to the public.
I have also attached a digital leaflet (English and Welsh)
