Public Liaison Officer - Alun Griffiths Contractors Ltd

We are a Civil Engineering, Construction & Rail Contractor operating throughout Wales and the West of England. 

At Griffiths, we understand that our business doesn’t exist in isolation. What we do has an effect on the community where our sites are located. We do our very best to minimise any negative impacts whilst enhancing the built environment, supporting local economies and developing cohesive communities.

I am a Public Liaison Officer for Griffiths, covering the SE Wales region. I am responsible for ensuring that members of the public, businesses and anyone affected by construction operations are kept informed and updated. In addition to the above, I’m also responsible for Social Value. This means I ensure local people benefit from the projects we build. This may be offering volunteer support to local organisations, identifying local people seeking employment or promoting careers in the construction industry to young people at school or college. 

One of the best parts of my job is working with and supporting local community groups. I have helped raise money for various charities such as community food banks and Marie Curie. I have also coordinated bigger projects, like helping out a local charitable organisation with material donations. I really enjoy being part of the construction industry and making a positive difference within the communities we work in.
